Residency involved creation of a ceramic studio within the town of New Glasgow, and producing work based on personal investigation.
Medalta, Medicine Hat, Alberta. 2013-2014. Artist in Residence program. This residency, for me, was a concentration on creating ceramic work and progress within the medium via exploration and experimentation.

Assistant to artist Aaron Nelson, for his “Connectivity” project. The position involved producing many press molded clay pieces, for a ceramic installation.

I was a part of ceramic demonstrations for local events in Medicine Hat, which involved technical demonstrations for the public, facts about clay and its properties, and education for children regarding throwing on the wheel.
Pottery Production. Medalta A.I.R., Medicine Hat, AB, 2013-2014
Created and repaired molds, but also made and finished wares for the Medalta brand, to be sold worldwide.

The position involved maintenance of the studio area, and clean up when necessary. Firing of kilns was also applied to the position.

The position involved teaching ceramic courses for the general public. This involved introductory courses to the ceramic material and to demonstrate techniques to make ceramic wares/art.
Technician Assistant. NSCAD University, Ceramics Dept, Halifax, NS, 2010-2013,
The work consisted of glaze creation and maintenance, clay production and maintenance, kiln firings and general cleanup of all areas in the studio environment. WHMIS training/education was mandatory for each year.
Professional Assistant. Neil Forrest, Halifax, NS. Summer of 2012 and summer of 2013. I was employed by Neil Forrest, as a professional assistant. The work consisted of preparing clay bodies, glazing and firing work created by Mr. Forrest, as well as boxing and shipping the work with Mr. Forrest’s consent and instructions.

I worked to create tiles /mosaique pieces, and glaze fire for an installation piece.
